Masters Programs


The Fundacion offers financial support in the form a loan, a scholarship or a combination of both, decided by our Scholarship Committee for the following Harvard schools:

Conditions of loan support:

1. A one year grace period after graduation is given.
2. Payment plan consists of monthly installments for either 5 or 7 years depending on the program.
3. Interest accrues at 5% fixed annual rate from the date of disbursement.
4. Payments must be made in Mexican pesos. Exact dollar amount will be calculated based on the exchange rate on the date of payment.
 


Special Scholarships

Application for these special scholarships is done through the same standard online application which can be found here.

Any student who applies for support and is admitted to any of these programs will be considered as a recipient of these special scholarships, selection is decided by the Fundacion’s Scholarship Committee.


Scholarship for programs in Education (HGSE).

We appreciate the contribution made to the Fundación to support Mexican students admitted to programs at the Harvard Graduate School of Education.  

Requisitos:

1. Student must be a Mexican citizen or permanent resident in Mexico.

2. Student must be accepted by the Harvard Graduate School of Education to pursue a full-time masters program.

3. Student must demonstrate financial need.

4. Support will be in the form of a scholarship decided by the Fundacion’s Scholarship Committee.

5. Support will be in the amount of US $50,0000 per year.

Student will be legally obligated to return to live and work in Mexico for two years, either immediately after graduation or after a maximum 2-year OPT. 

If the student does not return to fulfill this obligation, all support received must be repaid according to the terms outlined in the contract.


Scholarship for Public Health programs
(TH Chan School of Public Health or Harvard Medical School)

We appreciate the contribution made to the Fundacion to support Mexican students admitted to programs at the TH Chan Harvard School of Public Health or the Harvard Medical School.  

Requirements:

1. Student must be a Mexican citizen or permanent resident in Mexico.

2. Student must be accepted by Harvard University to pursue a full-time masters program.

3. Student must demonstrate financial need.

4. Support will be in the form of a scholarship decided by the Fundacion’s Scholarship Committee.

5. Support will be in the amount of US $50,0000 per year.

Student will be legally obligated to return to live and work in Mexico for two years, either immediately after graduation or after a maximum 2-year OPT. 

If the student does not return to fulfill this obligation, all support received must be repaid according to the terms outlined in the contract.


Ricardo Nassar Scholarship for LLM program.

We appreciate the contribution made to the Fundación by the Ricardo Nassar Zacarías Trust, where they recognized the need for support to Mexican students admitted to the LLM program at Harvard Law School.  This generous contribution will help Mexican students pursue an LLM degree at Harvard and grow the Mexican student population within the university. These students will then return to leadership positions in Mexico.

The Lic. Ricardo Nassar Zacarías Scholarship will be given each year to a Mexican student admitted to the LLM program at Harvard Law School and who demonstrated financial need.

In addition, the student must demonstrate in her/his Personal Statement to HLS having professional interests in the fields of government, nonprofit organizations or academia. Preference will be given to students who have worked or have a professional interest in human rights, advocates of civil liberties, consumer rights, environmental law, gender equality and other activities which serve a vulnerable population.  

Requirements:

1. Student must be a Mexican citizen or permanent resident in Mexico.

2. Student must be accepted by Harvard Law School to pursue a full-time LLM degree.

3. Student must demonstrate financial need.

4. Student must have a professional interest in human rights, advocates of civil liberties, consumer rights, environmental law, gender equality and other activities which serve a vulnerable population.  Recipient of support will be decided by the Fundacion’s Scholarship Committee.

5. Support will be in the amount of US $30,0000 per year.

Student will be legally obligated to return to live and work in Mexico for two years, either immediately after graduation or after a maximum 2-years of OPT.  

If the student does not return to fulfill this obligation all support received must be repaid according to the terms outlined in the contract.


Dr. Roberto Kretschmer Scholarship

This scholarship was established to honor the memory of Dr. Roberto Kretschmer who was a Harvard alum and close friend to the Fundacion. It will support one student accepted at a full-time master’s program at the Harvard Medical School or the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.

Priority will be given to students who work in the following research areas:

    1. Immunology of Amebiasis
    2. Immunodeficiency
    3. Immunoparasitology
    4. Immunogenetics
    5. Immunovirology
    6. Investigation of Clinical Biomedicine

    Requirements:

    1. Student must be a Mexican citizen or permanent resident in Mexico.

    2. Student must be accepted by the Harvard Medical School or the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health to pursue a full-time masters program.

    3. Student must demonstrate financial need.

    4. Support will be in the form of a scholarship decided by the Fundacion’s Scholarship Committee.

    5. Support will be determined by the committee based on the student’s financial need.

    Student will be legally obligated to return to live and work in Mexico for two years, either immediately after graduation or after a maximum 2-years of OPT.  

    If the student does not return to fulfill this obligation, all support received must be repaid according to the terms outlined in the contract.
