The "Clubes de Ciencia" are an initiative founded principally by Mexican PhD students and postdoctoral researchers at Harvard University and other US institutions. They seek to expand access to high quality science education to students of high school and college in Mexico.
The program takes a blended approach, combining experimental learning, on-line activities and mentoring to empower students from Mexico to take charge of their own science education. Clubes de Ciencia provide, free of charge, intensive courses and workshops in different cities in Mexico, during the Summer. They are lead by graduate students and researchers based in Harvard and other leading US universities, who strive to provide a supportive environment for many students to experience their first approach to scientific research and help prepare and inspire future generations of scientists from Mexico.
